The NHS has seen substantial growth in the need for secure remote access to Trust networks. A variety of NHS staff – on-call support, clinicians, community workers and users working from home may require secure access to data on the Trust network.
Secure-IT VPN, is designed specifically for the needs of NHS organisations. The solution consists of three components:
Installation, training and support services
Secure-IT fits clearly into the QIPP NHS strategy framework - Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention. This is a solution that can improve the quality of healthcare offered, introduce innovative approaches, increase productivity and support the key principle: prevention today means less intervention tomorrow. The QIPP framework follows previous government recommended mandates which included that systems be configured to enable 'secure access to, rather than transfer of, data wherever practicable'. The Secure-IT VPN solution provides for this type of system configuration and policy set-up.
The Secure-IT software from BMS has now been utilised within over 200 NHS Trusts and is being used by over 20,000 users within the NHS. The Secure-IT VPN solution will address all of the Trust’s requirements for secure remote access. Users find this solution easy to use and it is welcomed by IT staff as this solution has little or no management overhead.

Secure-IT VPN:-
This complete secure remote access solution, from BMS, ensures that each Trust meets both the current Good Practice Guides, provided by Connecting for Health, and the more rigorous standards originally laid down by the NHSIA.
Secure-IT can be rapidly deployed in times of adverse incident e.g a pandemic, or environmental incidents, which may preclude NHS staff working from their normal place of work.
